Greetings from ICASSP. As you might expect, the best of the ICASSP
auditory talks are coming to Stanford to present their work :-).
Next week at the CCRMA Hearing Seminar we are blessed with two visitors.
On Wednesday afternoon, Unto Laine (Helsinki) will be presenting a review
of his work on auditory frequency warping and other techniques for
analyzing sound using a combination of auditory ideas and wavelet. This
will be a joint talk with the CCRMA DSP Seminar and will be hosted by
Julius Smith and Matti Karjalainen.
On Friday at 11AM, Nakatani-san from NTT will be presenting his binaural
sound separation system.
Who: Unto Laine (Helsinki University of Technology)
What: Frequency Warping in Signal Processing (with auditory approach)
When: Wednesday May 17th at 4:15PM <==== Note different time!!!
Where: CCRMA Ballroom (Main Floor of the Knoll)
See you at CCRMA.

Frequency Warping in Signal Processing:
FAMlets and Genaralized Linear Prediction
The presentation will describe a frequency warping technique an its
application to auditory-based signal processing. A new tool called
Bark-FAMlets is introduced together with GLP, a new ARMA modeling method.
This generalization of the classical linear prediction can be used to
analyze spectral details using a low order model by focusing in a desired
portion of the frequency scale.

Does anyone know where I may find some recordings of anechoic symphonies
and or sound EFXs? If you do please supply me with the information
including catalog number of the respective discs. If memory serves
correctly I believe the BBS has an excellent recording that was made years
ago. Thanks in advance.
